Pontoon Boat Day on Lake Allatoona

What a wonderful time was had by all of us who participated in the First Annual Longhorn Group Pontoon Boat Day Event!!! Those that couldn't attend missed a very great time! Yesterday was a perfect day for our excursion - some clouds - some sun - good foot and great company! I'm already looking forward to Pontoon Boat Day 2009. Excellent, excellent day! Only thing missng...our good friends, Cheryl, Dona, Jimmy and Dennis - maybe next year!

My Work Friends!

I've been on a friend binge lately! Let me introduce you to my work friends - the people I spend most of my days with. I'm so fortunate to work with such wonderful people - and I really mean that. What a difference it makes when you look forward to seeing your co-workers after a few days away. We share our ideas, show off our new outfits and talk about or consume lots of great food together! I'm also looking forward to connecting with new friends via Blogspot. Life is good and I am blessed!

More Friends

These pictures are of my Longhorn girlfriends (minus one - we need an updated photo including Marion) and also a pic of my Scrap Diva friends (I "lifted" the image from my friend, Debra). I have so much fun with all of these women (and their spouses)! I love the variety of subjects we discuss and hearing about the interesting lives each of them lead. I can't imagine a life without friends!

A Few More Cakes...

...Maybe I'm a baking addict!
-The strawberry was for a Rehearsal Dinner
-The topsy turvy was a practice cake
-The pink heart for a bridal shower at work
-The hat for a friend's birthday
-The giant taco for Cinco De Mayo

Which I had a big slice right now!

Let More Good Times Roll!

I spent this last weekend with my two buds of 20 years!!! They drove down from the Chicago area and I drove up from Atlanta to meet in the cool and beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. Linda is a lovely dark haired beauty with two young children, Shelley is a beautiful blonde who is single and has a busy, busy life and I'm the one who's had a few husband in the past, happily married now and my children are grown (oh yes, there's those adorable grandchildren). The three of us are in some ways very different, but we connect and we complement each other. Most of all -no matter what - they have been and always will be - there for me! Now that's a really good thing!!! I'm blessed to have a lot of friends - my Longhorn crowd, Scrap Divas, Work Friends, City Girls and Church Pals - Lucky Me!

They met many of my 100's of cousins, we all enjoyed some fabulous food, danced at a Cowboy Redneck Honkey Tonk (oh yeah! Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy!!), visited Biltmore, enjoyed an outdoor church service with a good ole boy Southern Baptist preacher-followed by a pot-luck of delicious proportions, drove the Parkway and shopped just a little. Whew! Add to that lots of talking and staying up late! What a wonderful, refreshing and rejuvenating time we had. Of couse, I had post vacation blues for a few days upon my return, but we have vowed to make this a yearly retreat...hmmmm....what can we get into next???

Good Times!

I love getting together with my friends and try to do it often. This picture is from a party (it's always a party with this crowd) at Bill and Cheryl's lovely home (with an awesome pool). Everyone brought a contribution to the meal, but look at this spectacular dessert Cheryl made! Needless to say, a great time was had by all!
